Is Nexus Dex available on Android?

Yes. Nexus Dex is live on Google Play at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nexusdex.app. It is the same app as on iPhone: live Pokédex scanning, Friend Dex compare, trade matching and an events tracker.

What Android version does Nexus Dex need?

A phone running a recent Android version with the Play Store, plus Pokémon GO installed, since Nexus Dex reads your own Pokédex from your screen.

Nexus Dex for Android: now on Google Play

Live since 8 October 2026. The same app as on iPhone: live Pokédex scanning, Friend Dex compare, trade matching and an events tracker, free to start.

Get it on Google Play

Free to start. Pro is billed through Google Play and cancels anytime.

Thank you to every beta tester. Your reports shaped the scan speed, the HUD and the Pixel fixes that shipped in this build. Nothing to do on your side: the Play Store updates the beta to the public release and your account carries over.

What you get on Android

Live Pokédex scan: point the app at your Pokémon GO Pokédex and it reads your collection in real time, entirely on-device.
Friend Dex: compare collections side-by-side with friends and see exactly what each of you is missing.
Trade matcher: friend-aware trade recommendations so no more guessing who needs what.
Events tracker: Community Days, raids, GO Fest and Spotlight Hours in your local time, prioritised to your missing Pokémon.
Nexus Dex HUD: live IV and rank reads floating over Pokémon GO while you play.

iPhone friends? Nexus Dex is on the App Store too, and Friend Dex works across both platforms.

Android FAQ

I was a beta tester. What changes?

Nothing you need to do. The Play Store updates the beta build to the public release, and your account, scans and friends carry over. The #android-beta channel on Discord stays open for reports.

Is it free?

Yes. Live Pokédex scanning and tracking are free forever. Nexus Dex Pro adds unlimited friends, the meta compare, scan history and more, the same as on iPhone.

What Android version do I need?

A phone running a recent Android version with the Play Store. You'll also want Pokémon GO installed, since Nexus Dex is a companion app that reads your own Pokédex from your screen.

Does the live scan need any permission?

Only screen capture, asked for when you start a scan and used only while the scan runs. Nothing leaves your phone: the reading happens on-device, with no game login.
